Get the right parts the first time.
On a modern truck with a DPF system like we have on both our Paccar and Cummins engines there are two dosers. A fuel Doser and a DEF Doser.
A search for a “Doser” must qualify which part they are really looking for or our customer can get the wrong part.
Often our customers are not 100% solid on what they need either, but it is our job as a professional to try to lead them with questions, so we get the right part. If not certain about getting the right part, please ask the customer to get more information before just sending a part out, not knowing if it is right. Their truck I is already down and sending the wrong part only adds fuel to the fire.
The fuel doser may also be called: doser, 7th injector, injector doser, hydrocarbon injector, turbo injector, fuel injector (by turbo)
- The defining question is: does it inject fuel or DEF
- If fuel it should be near the turbo area of the vehicle
The DEF Doser may also be called: doser, injector, DEF injector, injector doser
- The defining question is: does it inject fuel or DEF
